15 th workday

I was originally suppose to post this ages ago but I've been slacking. So without further a due here are the results from the interview with my mom.
1. What is you're favorite genre of African music?
 A. The oldies and love songs.
2. Why?
 A. They're feel good music. It enriches the soul. You can dance to it and you feel the emotion. The love. Real love.
3. What is your favorite thing about African music?
 A. No matter the genre the song makes you want to get up and dance. My people just have a way of making you feel like you're in the music video with them, making it happen.
4. When it comes to today's American music and the dancing how do you feel about it?
 A. Many styles of music today are more west indie style and African style. The American culture is embracing us now. From the music to the clothing they love it. I remember when they use to make fun of the foreigners, calling them African booty scratchers. Now they love us our melanin , our food, our music, just us as a culture.
5. How would u describe our dances?
 A. we Africans see dancing as a way to entertain and express ourselves. We use every bone in our body. We let the music move us. what do the Americans call it when they shake their but ?terking?twerking, that's it twerking. In Africa its not twerking its culture. You shake what u can shake whether its bones or but you shake it.
6. How do Africans express themselves while dancing?
 A. The clothing! we use wild bright colors , grass skirts, jewelry, beads whatever we can get our hands on. We use paint to paint the body Anything , Anything!
7. Do you think celebrities today incorporate African music and dances in their cultures?
 A. yes ,BeyoncĂ© she's been doing it for years, the clothing ,the dancing she has paved the way for the world to recognize our beauty as a country.
8. Is there anything else you must say about our culture?
 A. we a learning to accept and become more and more diverse. We are not completely there yet but it makes me happy to see that people are admiring and actually appreciating the mother land. Africa.

14th workday

I started the actual power point for my tedtalk. I have a total of 5 slides so far. Most of them are very plain but it'll fix that later. My cover page is very interesting. It has some African fabric that is relatable to my topic. I'm honestly both excited and scared at this point in time.
Hopefully all my research will be put to good use. I'm really praying that I don't pass out during this presentation. They make it so easy in the videos. In reality its so hard to capture peoples attention in that way. Most school related or just many serious subjects are very boring but they make it seem so interesting. That takes some serious talent.

13 th workday

Today I am finally caught up. I must admit I took a few days off . I really should've invested more time in this. I feel so bad. Mostly for myself. This grade could hurt me a lot. Hopefully I put enough into this to carry my dead weight.
Anyways off that note I got all the topics I want to address on my ted talk written out. I've been working on ways to entertain the audience and get them involved in it. I want to make sure that its not just another boring presentation. I'm going to be the first person presenting so I have to make sure that its good enough to remember.

12th day

My website published by accident. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix the mistake I caused. My interview questions will be up soon. This project really takes a toll on you when you don't stay on top of it all. I really should've said on rack.
Next I have to just start on doing things for my ted talk. It should be easy as long as I get my stuff together. Get my presenting skills on a beam and catch the audiences attention. I may watch more videos tonight as a reference.

I'm honestly just thinking a lot and redoing things. SO its mostly touch ups of old materials on my website .Its not that hard anymore because I know where I am in my project and where I need to be. I'm closer to my goal than I was some weeks ago. Also I'm caught up and I'm not slacking anymore.

10 th workday

Today I'm going to start finding questions to ask my mom . Apart from the many I already had so that I can get it approved by Ms. Newman. I don't know what to do now cause I feel like I've asked all that I could. so back to the dashboard I go. next step is to get them approved.
I found that I can still edit the site after its published. That's very good because I was scared that I would have to start all over again. Now that I know that I don't have to I can continue with putting in videos .So I guess its farewell until next week . Bye guys

Eighth Workday

Today I plan to finally put in the videos. I'm really excited for this part because I've been procrastinating for weeks. Its fairly easy and my website is mostly done. I have one page left to complete fully and just the background of my other page. All the videos are placed and captioned.
I just really hope my project turns out good.
I published my website by accident , so now I have to figure out how to edit it. I did my interview with my mom again. She helped me find some old culture music. I love the beats in them its really good.
